IMRI has reached formal supply cooperation with XISC PTE. LTD, providing API 5L X60Q PSL2 line pipe for oil and gas transmission pipeline projects in Algeria.

As a low-temperature toughness grade pipeline steel under API 5L standard, X60Q features excellent crack arrest performance. Combined with PSL2 additional technical requirements, the product requires strict control over chemical composition, mechanical properties, low-temperature impact toughness and full-scale non-destructive testing. It is highly suitable for North African long-distance energy pipeline construction with complex climate conditions.

Relying on stable Baosteel supply channels and supporting anti-corrosion processing capacity, IMRI can deliver integrated solutions including pipe supply, technical document support and customized surface anti-corrosion treatment. This cooperation further expands IMRI’s project cases of high-specification line pipe in Algeria and the North African market.

Project Challenge

1.Rigorous PSL2 full-standard control Compared with PSL1, API 5L PSL2 imposes stricter restrictions on material traceability, testing items and record retention. Every production link must form complete and auditable inspection files. 2.Stable low-temperature impact toughness of X60Q Heat treatment and rolling parameters need precise adjustment to guarantee consistent low-temperature impact indicators across production batches, avoiding hidden risks during pipeline operation. 3.High standards for Algeria project acceptance The end user requires standardized English test certificates and batch inspection records to meet local engineering audit and customs clearance requirements. 4.Long-distance marine transport protection Special anti-rust packaging is adopted to prevent surface defects caused by seawater humidity and friction during cross-ocean transportation.

Our Solution

1.Strict production execution following API 5L X60Q PSL2 We implement whole-process quality tracking for raw materials, hot rolling and finishing. All processes are regulated to satisfy low-temperature toughness indicators and all mandatory PSL2 testing requirements. 2.Comprehensive pre-shipment inspection All line pipes undergo dimensional inspection, surface visual check, tensile test, hardness test, low-temperature impact test and non-destructive inspection before delivery. 3.Complete and standardized export documents We organize full sets of mill test reports, inspection certificates and shipping documents in advance to support smooth customs clearance and project acceptance in Algeria. 4.Seaworthy packaging and marked classification Anti-rust wrapping and fixed bundling are adopted.
